why I created Home for Christmas

I’ve spent the last 15 years decorating our home for Christmas, making things by hand, collecting pieces I love, and learning what makes a home feel beautiful without making it feel too precious to actually live in.

Through Live Oak Nest, I’ve spent years sharing decorating ideas, handmade projects, and inspiration for creating a beautiful home that is well loved and truly lived in. Along the way, my work has been featured in publications including Better Homes & Gardens and American Farmhouse Style.

And somewhere along the way, I’ve realized that having more inspiration isn’t always what we need. Sometimes we need to quiet all the ideas, notice what we’re actually drawn to, and decide what we want the season to feel like before we start creating it.
