Create A Joy Jar And DIY Shabby Chic Tassel

I'm sharing a fun way to start off 2021 with your word of the year, also known as your one little word or one word! This word themed tablescape is perfect for getting together with friends and family to share your one word and be encouraged for the year ahead!

You'll see all things alphabet and words in this fun tablescape. My table runner is made up of layered book pages and it drapes over either end of the table. I used an antique typewriter to anchor my table centerpiece, and framed it with vintage books and beautiful blooms! Each place setting includes a charcoal grid linen ruffle tea towel, a mini clip board with a luggage tag for crafting, a pressed glass bud vase card holder, and a scrabble rack + tiles to spell out your ONE LITTLE WORD! I've nestled extra tiles into vintage gravy boats for added charm.

I wanted to share a beautiful and simple fall tablescape I put together using my DIY fabric pumpkins and acorns. This would be so pretty for a Thanksgiving table also!

I've used vintage and thrifted ironstone dishes, and topped each place setting off with one of my DIY fabric pumpkins!

For the centerpiece I stacked dishes and fabric acorns on a wooden riser that I made and sprinkled little fabric acorns all around.

Do you keep a joy jar or blessing jar throughout the year? Are you familiar with them? It’s basically a place to jot down and keep memories and blessings throughout the year. Then at the end of the year you read back through them as a family. ❤️ I’ve decided to do one this year and I’m using this pretty terrarium to collect all of our fun memories, blessings, and answered prayers! I made this sweet little tag and ribbon tassel to go along with it and I’m sharing it all with you as a free download over on the blog. I’ll be making a little booklet out of all our tags at the end of the year as a keepsake! 👏🏻🥰

Hi y’all! I don’t typically do winter decor per se. Any winter decor is usually just my Christmas decor hanging on for dear life. 😂 BUT I did take my Santa picture down and rework this little space. I had to share this BEAUTIFUL white wooden Christmas tree that my sweet friend Aimee @rusticoccasions sent me! Isn’t it gorgeous! She made this out of reclaimed wood! 😍😍😍 It looks so pretty next to the yarn art my grandma made! ❤️ Aimee is also working on some chain link hearts for Valentines that are just so precious! Do you keep fresh flowers around during the winter months? I’ve loved keeping hydrangeas and winter greens on the table the last several weeks! A little hydrangea tip that I recently learned is to basically scorch the very base of your cut stem with really hot water before you place it in your vase. It helps the blooms last a little longer. I have no idea why this works since you’d think it would make them wilt, but it really does seems to help!

Hi friends! I wanted to share a last look at this winter tablescape tonight! I’m working on a fun one that I’ll share this coming week. 👏🏻 I’ve started to get the itch to start putting away the Christmas so I’ll probably start on that this week too.
