Learn how to make simple DIY Americana Flags this summer for patriotic decor that feels timeless and festive.

Fabric DIY Americana Flags
If you’re looking to add a little festive decor to your home this summer and want to do some creating, this is a great project for you! It’s a quick little craft that is super simple but fun to do. These pretty little fabric flags are great to stick into your houseplants and add a festive touch to your home.

Supplies Needed for DIY Americana Flags
You only need a few supplies to get started.
- Color Inkjet Printer
- Canvas Printer Sheets or Cotton Printer Sheets
- Flag Designs
- Scissors or Paper Cutter
- Hot Glue
- Wooden Dowels
I tested these 4×6 flag designs on canvas paper sheets and cotton paper sheets and they both worked really well. The canvas sheets are mush stiffer. You can gently fold them to give the final look movement or you can leave them flat. You could also add a scalloped edge to the end of the flags to give them a fun detail.
The cotton fabric sheets hang loosely and are much lighter so they will move and sway in the wind if you have them on a porch or under a ceiling fan.
