Bunny Decor DIY Flower Pot
Even though it is miserably cold outside right now, Spring will be here before we know it! I absolutely LOVE Spring decor. Give me all the bunnies and bird nests please! I’m so excited to share this bunny flower pot DIY with you today. It is so pretty and is the perfect Spring home decor craft.
Did you see my post earlier this week? I made a bird nest art piece for the antique mantle in our bedroom. It turned out so pretty!
Bunny Decor DIY Supplies
You need a few things to complete this bunny decor DIY. I’ll link the shop-able items down below!
- Terracotta Pot (Mine was from Michaels last year)
- Faux Plant (Mine is a Rosemary plant from iKea)
- Chalk Paint / Mineral Paint
- Paper Clay
- IOD Mould
- Wood Glue
- Paint Brush
- Moss
How-To Bunny Decor DIY
To start, you want to put a coat of chalk paint on your terracotta pot and let it dry.
Pull off a piece of paper clay and warm it up with your hands. Roll into into a ball and then press it down firmly into the mould.
Trim off excess clay using a knife, debit card, or kitchen utensil.
Then, gently remove the clay from the mould.
Apply a generous layer of wood glue to the back of your mould and adhere it to the terracotta pot.
Allow the mould to dry for 10-20 minutes, until a slight crust forms on the paper clay.
Paint the pot and the rabbit mould. To achieve an aged, vintage look, use several different colors of paint and layer them on top of one another. Use a dry brushing technique. Put a very small amount of paint on your brush, brush it off, and then gently drag your brush across the pot. This will “highlight” the textures and details without giving you full coverage.
Finally, add your faux plan into the pot and fill the outer rim with moss.

Kayla, this is the cutest little bunny pot!! I haven’t worked with anything clay in years and I need to tuck this project into my to-do list! Great job and thanks for sharing!
Hi Cindy! Thank you so much sweet friend! I love paper clay…so easy to work with. Thanks for taking the time to read and comment!
This is adorable. I have this IOD mould, the clay and the paint so I will have to make it this week. Thank you for the inspiration! One question – how did you get the scallop around the top? I love that detail.
Thank you Nancy! Isn’t that so cute! It actually came on that pot! But I did find a little mold trim on amazon that I purchased because I wanted to add the scallop trim to a few other pots I have! You can use this mold and paper clay! https://amzn.to/3Z00SpZ
