Spring is right around the corner and this simple, dimensional bird nest artwork will be a great addition to your Spring decor! Add it to your Spring mantle, at your entryway, or tucked into a bookshelf! It turned out so cute and it was so simple to make! How To Make Bird Nest Art In 5 Steps

Let’s get started! You will need the following supplies to complete this project.

• An old picture frame
• Chalk paint if you want to paint your frame
• Scrapbook paper for the background of your art piece
• Chipboard
• A small bird nest
• American Moss or Excelsior
• Hot Glue Gun and Glue

How To Make Bird Nest Art In 5 Steps

Step 1:

First, paint the frame if you’d like to change the color.

Step 2:

Glue your piece of scrapbook paper to the cardstock or chipboard using Mod Podge. Then smooth it out really well by pressing down with another sheet of paper.

Step 3:

Next form a bird nest with the American moss/excelsior and then hot glue the small bird nest down into it. (Side note…did you see the Speckled Egg Wreath DIY I made?! I used this same moss and it turned out so cute!)

Step 4:

Once that is dry, hot glue the “stacked” bird nests onto the scrapbook paper backing.

Step 5:

To finish it up, place it back into the frame to complete your bird nest art and craft.

How To Style Layered Wall Art

Layering wall art, books, and frames when decorating a shelf or mantle is a great way to add texture, depth, and interest. Don’t you just love the texture and depth it adds to this antique mantle? I originally planned to print off some photos of the kids to put here, but my printer wasn’t working and we were in the middle of snow storm. So I decided to get creative and work with what I had. Isn’t this such a cute cottage home decor idea?!
