Building A Nest, Chapter Two. Come on over as I share the new build process and journey from start to finish for our new home/nest!

Hi there! Did you have a nice Mother’s day weekend? I had the best time! My hubby took the kids on Friday and I went to Vintage Market Days in McKinney, Texas. Have you been to a Vintage Market Days event?! If not, please go! They set up markets all over a few times a year and they are such fun events to browse! I found so many good treasures and spent my Mother’s day and birthday money! HA!

I’ll do a Gathered Finds video next week to show you what I ended up bringing home.

After my fun day at Vintage Market days, I came home and we took the kids for a bike ride. This is one of the few times we’ve been able to get them on the bikes that we got them for their birthday! Could they be any cuter?!

Building A Nest, Chapter Two

I spent Saturday afternoon and Sunday working outside and will be sharing my little porch refresh soon. But today I want to share a progress update on the home front! If you remember from a few weeks ago, this is where we left off. The plumbing was in and the foundation had been poured.

And this is what the home looked like about a week after that. We’ve had a lot of rainy days here which set back the framing back by a few days.

But it only took a few dry days and they had most of the frame done, plywood on the outside walls, and the roof and trim up! Can you believe it?

We loaded up the kids this past Saturday morning and drove out to the house and this is what we saw! There was a cleaning crew loading up all of the leftover wood and scraps, so we put the kids in the stroller and sat them up across the street so they could watch.

We could not believe all of the things that our builders accomplished the last few weeks.

It really looks like a home now! I just love how it is coming together. The tall peaks on the front are some of my favorite details, but I can’t wait to see how the window boxes look!

Over the next few weeks they will start working on installing windows, wiring, and duct work I believe. It is really coming along now!

Time Flies

I feel like I really need to get in gear at our current place and start getting it ready to list. A lot of things need to be listed on Facebook Marketplace, and I probably need to make a few trips to Salvation Army. Moving is a such great time to declutter and clear things out. Less to move that way! HA!

We only have a few more months before we will be packing up to move, and I know it will be here before we know it!

I’d love for you to say hello down below and let me know what you think! And if we’re not friends over on Facebook or Instagram, what are you waiting for?! ☺️

  1. It is coming along. Congratulations on the progress. The exterior moves the fastest. Sometimes the interior crawls, but you are right, you’ll be living the dream soon! Best wishes!
