Come see the party animal birthday theme we chose for my twins two year old birthday party! The mini party hats for toy animals are so cute!
Party Animal Birthday Theme
Hi yall! Here we are in the middle of April and I can hardly believe how fast time is passing us by! The twins turned TWO in March! It’s so crazy how fast the last two years have gone by. Looking back, the first few months after they were born is such a blur. We don’t even know how we made it through all of those early days and weeks with such little sleep. But we did!
This last year has been such a fun age. Seeing their curiosity in everything, learning to walk and run, first words; it’s all been such a joy to watch!
Peter Rabbit Themed Birthday Party
Last year I went with a Peter Rabbit Themed birthday party for their first birthday and it turned out so cute! You can see part one here and part two here. I loved this theme because it is gender neutral and perfect for a Spring birthday.
This year I went with a Party Animal theme using farm animals! I saw all the cute little toy animals wearing party hats on Pinterest and the rest was history. LOL I think those party animals with the little hats are just SO DANG CUTE!!!
When I started making plans for our little party, I headed over to Creative Market to look for some graphics that I could use. I found this Birthday Party at the Farm and knew it would be perfect! After I downloaded the files, I used Adobe Illustrator to create all of my graphics, banners, etc. You could also use Canva if you don’t have Adobe Illustrator. I used the graphics from Creative Market to create banners, pattern pages, confetti, party hats, and banners!
Party Animal Birthday Theme Table Centerpiece
For my table centerpiece, I enlarged a few of the animals, printed them off, glued a wooden dowel to the backs and then stuck them into some floral foam. I added some moss/excelsior on top of the floral foam. This moss really compliments the farm animal theme doesn’t it?!
I also printed off some of the patterns on 8.5 x 11 paper and then used a 1 inch circular punch to punch out large circles. This made large confetti that I used to sprinkle all around.
Party Animal birthday Theme Place Settings
For the place settings I used jute chargers and then layered on some paper plates that I picked up at Target. I topped a little party animal on top of each place setting. The party animals were purchased from Michaels. I made the little hats using some patterned paper I had on hand and then hot glued a mini pom pom to the top. To make the hats, start by cutting a circle in half. Then roll your paper into a cone shape. If you need to trim off some of the top point you can! (You might have to do a few trial runs like I did to figure out what size will best fit your animals.)
To keep the hats on the animals, I glued a toothpick up in the hat, broke it off at the base of the hat and then put a dab of hot glue on the toothpick and glued it to the toy animal. They popped right off when I wanted them to, but stayed secure for the party!
I used the same method to make the “human” party hats, but I used the 8.5 x 11 patterned pages that I printed, and then hot glued on larger pom poms.
High Chair Skirts Made With Streamers
For the high chairs, I decided to decorate them with streamers and layer a paper banner on top of them. I created the banners in Adobe Illustrator using the graphics I purchased and then printed them on 8.5 x 11 paper before trimming them out.
To attach the streamers to the high chairs, I ran a long strip of double sided tape on the high chair tray. Each streamer was folded in half and then placed onto the tape! I used tape to attach the paper banners too! Easy and festive!
How To Make A Balloon Arch
The balloon arch was so simple to make. I purchased all the supplies on Amazon and you can find them all at the bottom of this post. All you do is blow up your balloons, slide them into the plastic strip, and then adhere it to the wall. It might have taken me an hour to pump up all the balloons and attach them to the strip. We probably should have suspended ours from the ceiling, but we opted to use clear string and thumbtacks to tack it to the wall. It turned out SO pretty don’t you think?! It also lasted for several days so you could totally do this ahead of time. We ended up taking it down about a week later and it was still going strong.
Simple Gift Wrapping With Kraft Paper And Tulle
For the gifts, I simply wrapped them all in kraft paper. I purchased this roll from Amazon and it’s great for wrapping gifts. To make them a little more festive I used tulle and created large bows on each package. I also tucked a little animal print onto a few gifts. You could also add some colorful polka dots and stripes to the packages with paint if you wanted!
To try and blend in some of my home decor signs, I trimmed out some of my patterned paper and taped it onto the art. It makes cute party decor and it’s easy to change back when the party is over.
We purchased the kids these little tricycles and they have been a lot of fun. They come with the push handle which is so handy when they decide to get off and walk, but as they get older they transition to balance bikes and then tricycles! And of course I had to get a little horn for them too! I also linked a few of the other items we got them and all in all, I think they have been great for their age! They have really enjoyed these Magnetic Tile blocks too! Who am I kidding, I have really enjoyed them too! HA!
No Processed Sugar, Healthy Birthday Cake
We’ve opted not to give the kids any processed sugar or foods for the most part, so I made their little birthday cakes using this recipe. The cake part is very dense so I made them about the size of a pancake. For the icing I used greek yogurt with honey and it was by far their favorite part! I think more ended up smeared on their bodies though than in their mouths! HA!
I really think this party animal birthday theme turned out SO cute! And my little party animal twins seemed to really enjoy it! 😉
I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing the party details and a few fun pictures of the twins. Maybe it will help you in your party planning for your kids or grandkids!
I’d love for you to say hello down below and let me know what you think! And if we’re not friends over on Facebook or Instagram, what are you waiting for?! ☺️

Where did you get the animal print out?
Hi Morgan! Creative Market is where I downloaded the files and then I created my graphics/patterns/hats, etc in Adobe Illustrator. Hope this helps!
